Welcome! The Independence Project is dedicated to the independence of those with physical disabilities.This independence can take many forms including the need for medical equipment or funds for schooling or job training. The Independence Project is also tasked with addressing instances of discrimination against those with physical disabilities. If you feel we can help you or you would like to become a member of the Independence Project movement please email us and someone will contact you as soon as possible. This past August 2014 the Independence Project presented it's first school scholarship in the amount of $1000.00. We are looking to provide another school scholarship in January 2015. Please contact us for information on how to apply.

Have you experienced barriers  when attempting to access a place of public accommodation?

Have you attempted to use a public bathroom at a restaurant, venue, or other public place and found it was inaccessible and not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Law) ? Have you attempted to park at a shopping center, mall, or venue  and found there were no handicapped accessible parking spaces or they were not compliant with the ADA Law? Have you been discriminated against at work or just because you are disabled? Please contact us so we can hear your story and help.
